The new decade kicked off with a new creative director when Diane welcomed Yvan Mispelaere to the DVF team. Their first collaboration stemmed from a walk through Paris and an exhibition honoring the dancer Isadora Duncan, and was heralded as a success by fashion press around the globe.
Diane commemorated her 40-plus years in the business by creating the “Journey of a Dress” exhibition, which has visited Moscow, São Paulo and Beijing. The retrospective spanned four decades and cataloged Diane’s reach as a designer and collector with over 80 vintage and contemporary dresses, original artwork and personal mementos.
The DVF fashion brand now offers four complete collections a year and accessories. The full range of accessories extends to shoes, handbags, small leather goods, scarves, eyewear, fine jewelry, watches and luggage. In 2011 DVF debuted a home collection, encompassing tabletop, bedding and rugs.
Diane also designed suites for Claridge’s hotel in London. She continued to open flagship stores in cities around the world by adding Boston, Dallas, Dubai, Istanbul and NYC Soho to the ever-growing roster. By 2011 the DVF brand was sold in 66 countries and 65 shops worldwide.
The Fall of 2011 will mark the launch of Diane, the fragrance.
